Extractors

Postby BrianS » Fri May 14, 2010 2:07 am

Does anyone have input on extractors they would like to see?

Has anyone created extractors they are willing to share with the community?

This is the place to do so…

Yes, I would like to see a MQLOG extractor. For MQ on Tandem that runs in the OSS space. I created one but it had to create a OSSTTY which causes many $0 ems messages.

I wrote another version that starts OSSTTY as a server so it is not spawned each time the refresh cycle hits. This works at a TACL prompt, but when run in Prognosis the OSSTTY session dies. Hope someone else has had success doing this.

will you please provide additional information such as specific OS platform and possible metrics?

We use mostly AIX. Some v5.3 some v6.1. We have a few Redhat.
Metrics would be some of what you can get from the commands "enq -WAs"; "lpstat -pprintername "; and the "errpt".

Hi Nick,

I'm interested in having a quick chat about your suggestion and see if we can tackle that. I can't see from your profile which Nick you are. Can you shoot me an email at Ben [period] Berger [the at symbol] prognosis.com and we can go from there?

Many Thanks

Ben

Nick,

As discussed yesterday ERRPT output is read into the MPEVENT record today. There a few fields in the record that are not in the standard display that are only populated today by ERRPT. I'm getting the online documentation updated to be clearer on this.

Doug Hall has an LPSTAT extractor that might need some adapting but hopefully we can move forward with it.

Thanks

Ben

Not at this time Nick. New records need a restart. It is an enhancement we would like to make but not scheduled at this time. Ben
